By social and economic monitoring the authors identify the impact of HPP construction projects on the areas of their deployment. The general public surveys demonstrate different estimates of the impact of larger electric power engineering construction projects on the respective economy, standard of living and social environment. The conclusion is made that such mega projects are meeting to a great degree the corporate goals without securing the achievement of Russia’s strategic targets in the Far East.
