Russia Pensions System: the Hard Way of Building Insurance Institutions
The paper considers economic backgrounds for building the retirement insurance institutions in Russia, and it analyses the pension reform of 2002 and systemic obstacles impeding the effective operation of the pension institutions, the accumulation pension institute among them. Having compared Russian pensions system with those existing in other countries, we can offer the ways how the mechanisms of the retirement insurance could be built.
